Are they really worth it? Usuki's seem to be the newest craze to hit Neopia. They appear to be even bigger then NeoHomes. But how can that be? These tiny little dolls have absolutely no economic value and there seems to be no reason at all behind their popularity.
Perhaps the cuteness of these little dolls has something to do with it. Usuki's come in many different varieties, for example: there are mermaid, beautiful hair, cowgirl, teenage, etc. They are beautifully crafted and each Usuki appears to have it's own distinct personality.
Another reason for their popularity may be the fact that these dolls represent all walks of life. It has been statistically proven that many owners now a days wants theirs pets to have knowledge of all the other pets around them. Also Usuki's portray many jobs, for example: flight attendant and cowgirl, in a positive way.
However there is a downside to theses little gems. They are incredibly expensive. Some can be up to 700 np in the main store, and in private stores the prices can be ten times higher. Although these dolls can amuse little ones for hours at a time, you should be aware that these creatures could become addictive.
So in the opinion of this writer, Usuki's are simple a commodity right now, purely a fad. Just give it some time and the prices will decrease. However, I you do find a doll at a reasonable price you should buy it. You could receive up to ten times what you paid in a trade. Even though these little "gems" are fashionable at the moment they have proven to be very profitable in resale. Just be sure to jump on the wagon before it is to late.
